Frequently asked questions

Buying, installing and the free versions. Still stuck? Write to support@centurycreatives.com.

BUYING & LICENSING

Is this a subscription?

No. Today every Century Creatives product is a one-time purchase, with no recurring fee. Updates within the same version are free, and new major versions may be offered as optional paid upgrades.

BUYING & LICENSING

Where do I buy?

Many of our plugins and products are distributed by FxFactory. For those, the “Buy on FxFactory” button takes you to the product on FxFactory, where checkout is handled securely by FastSpring.

Prices on our site are in US dollars (USD). FxFactory shows prices in your local currency, and your final total, including any taxes, is confirmed at checkout.

BUYING & LICENSING

What is FxFactory and do I need it?

FxFactory is a free Mac app that installs and licenses plugins for Final Cut Pro. Products bought on FxFactory run through it, so install FxFactory first (fxfactory.com).

BUYING & LICENSING

How do upgrades work?

Smaller updates that bring improvements and fixes are free for everyone who owns the product.

Only new major versions, real upgrades with new features, are paid, and owners of the previous version can upgrade at a reduced price. If you'd rather not upgrade, the version you already have keeps working.

BUYING & LICENSING

Can I get a refund?

Yes. Every Century Creatives product comes with a 30-day refund guarantee: if you're not happy with it for any reason, ask for a refund within 30 days of your purchase.

If you bought it on FxFactory, request it from FxFactory with your order details (see FxFactory's refund policy). If you bought it directly from Century Creatives, write to us at support@centurycreatives.com.

INSTALLING & USING

How do I install a plugin I bought?

If you bought it on FxFactory: open FxFactory, sign in with your purchase email, find the product and click Install. Then open Final Cut Pro.

If you bought it directly from Century Creatives: quit Final Cut Pro, open the DMG and run the PKG installer. Then open Final Cut Pro.

INSTALLING & USING

Where do I find the plugins in Final Cut Pro?

Depending on the product, it's in the Titles and Generators sidebar or in the Effects or Transitions browser, usually in a category named after the product. Drag an element to the timeline and adjust it in the Inspector (⌘4).

INSTALLING & USING

What are the requirements?

You need a Mac and the app each product works with, shown on its product page. Products installed with FxFactory follow FxFactory's own system requirements, listed on fxfactory.com. We recommend keeping macOS, Final Cut Pro and FxFactory up to date.

INSTALLING & USING

I bought it, but I still see a watermark.

If you bought it on FxFactory, make sure you're signed in to FxFactory with your purchase email, then delete Final Cut Pro's render files so it renders again.

FREE VERSIONS

How do the FREE versions work?

Most free versions are a smaller version of the full product. Enter your name and email, confirm your address, and we'll send your download link. Quit Final Cut Pro, open the .zip, open the DMG and run the PKG installer. Then open Final Cut Pro.
