Final Cut Pro 11: Key New Features

Apple has finally released Final Cut Pro 11, bringing several updates that enhance both speed and creativity in the editing workflow.

One of the highlights is the new Scene Removal Mask — an AI-powered tool that separates subjects from the background without the need for a green screen. It’s a huge time-saver for quick compositions and background edits, delivering clean results with minimal effort.

Another standout is Smooth Slo-Mo, which uses machine learning to generate fluid slow motion from standard 30 or 60 fps footage. There’s no longer a need to rely on high-speed cameras to achieve cinematic effects — this tool does the heavy lifting for you.

The update also introduces smarter timeline indexing, faster rendering on Apple Silicon, and improved tools for organizing complex projects — all designed to boost efficiency without complicating your workflow.
